North Carolina roots. Everyone welcome.

Different flocks.
One community.

We came for the chickens. We stayed for the people. Good advice, local connections, and a community that gets it.

Our roots

One hobby farm.
A bigger idea.

In 2013, our founder Kayla started her own hobby farm—and discovered how much easier the journey could be with a community.

Finding new breed lines, dealing with predators, and sourcing local feed brought plenty of questions. Connecting with nearby farms and experienced keepers wasn’t easy.

That experience sparked a vision: a place where people could share what they know, support one another, and help every flock flourish.

What we’re here for

Small flocks.
Shared possibilities.

We measure success by the value we bring to the people we serve: helpful knowledge, meaningful connections, and a community to call your own.

Share the know-how.

Make chicken keeping easier by learning from one another’s questions and experience.

Grow local connections.

Bring keepers, small businesses, and local farms together so good connections can take root.

Help each other flourish.

Create a welcoming place to ask, contribute, and enjoy the rewards of raising a flock.

What keepers say

A place to find your people.

In their own words.

Starting my chicken keeping journey was overwhelming to say the least. Chicken Keepers helped answer all of my questions, and helped me feel confident growing my flock.

Even though I'm definitely not a novice, this community gave me answers and connections I really needed. I'm happy to be a KEEPER!
