How do we choose your matches?
This free quiz compares your answers with the 44 introductory almanac profiles. Known climate, space, feather-care, and flock-compatibility conflicts are filtered out. Your goals and preferences then order the remaining candidates. Egg color has less weight than practical care.
Unknown facts stay unknown. Results include what fits, what needs care, and what to ask a breeder. They are a research shortlist, not a guarantee about an individual chicken. Photos show individual birds and varieties.
Each full profile includes its breed references. A few disposition, size, and mothering traits are supplemented by Mississippi State Extension’s breed-selection guide ↗. General selection principles also draw on The Livestock Conservancy’s Heritage Chicken FAQ ↗. No paid AI service is used.
